Another Brick in the Wall – Peak Phase 2 | Week 1 | Run 1

My Road to TOWaterfront 42K Another brick in the wall. Nothing glamorous, but another solid 60 minutes of Z2 rhythm. Felt steady, form stayed relaxed. Mentally logged it as one more piece in the structure. Metrics – Execution Actuals Metric Value Duration 1:00:13 Distance 8.58 km Avg Pace 7:01 min/km NGP 6:51 min/km Calories 706 […]

Peak Phase 1 | Week 3 | Run 5

My Road to TOWaterfront 42K 📝 Where was my RPE? I think yesterday’s short hike on hilly terrain likely contributed to my relatively high RPE on today’s 40-minute Easy Run. Yes, I did it fasted, and yes, the temp crept up during the run, but I could feel the residual fatigue from the “leisurely” hike.

Peak Phase 1 | Week 3 | Run 4

My Road to TOWaterfront 42K This was a sweet, fasted Easy 30. I let Drum Buddy @ 161 | 163 | 165 BPM in 10 minute blocks dictate my cadence and let the paces land where they must. I wasn’t concerned with HR, because through repeated testing I know pretty much where it will sit

Summer Heat Hangs On – Peak Phase 1 | Week 3 | Run 1

My Road to TOWaterfront 42K This was a warm one. Simple easy run at a relaxed pace while Drum Buddy ticked from 155 → 158 bpm in 10-minute steps to keep the legs in check. I’m not convinced about the TP chart flagging a high Pa:HR in the first klick – nothing crazy happened effort-wise.

Cool Air, Smooth Steps – Peak Phase 1 | Week 2 | Run 4

My Road to TOWaterfront 42K The morning felt more like autumn than late September, and the cool air set the tone. I set Drum Buddy to keep me ticking between 153–155 bpm, the rhythm feeling steady and sustainable, but I struggle to keep that low cadence, but it does help me not to over-crank. Heart

Almost Rest Day Easy Run – Peak Phase 1 | Week 2 | Run 1

My Road to TOWaterfront 42K I almost took an extra rest day when I woke up this morning-my legs simply refused to co-operate. No early run. Still, I packed my gear for work, just in case. Good call. By midday my Garmin was ticking down to “0 hours Recovery Time,” so I laced up and

Easy 30 – Build Phase 3 | Week 3 | Run 1

My Road to TOWaterfront 42K No fanfare today – just a steady 30 minutes. I’ve got my eye on the upcoming Fitness Test (Threshold Pace and HR), but for now, this run did the job. I felt strong. I can sense the fitness building. 📊 Metrics at a Glance 🧢 Coach’s Corner Execution vs PlanPlanned

Easy Run – Build Phase 3 | Week 2 | Run 4 – August 30

My Road to TOWaterfront 42K I enjoyed my bed this morning, thus a late start – well-needed rest. No big pre-run prep for this 35-minute Easy run. I popped one SaltStick tab and took a couple swigs of Nuun, and that was it. After a short dynamic warmup, I was off with a mix of

Daily Run Log — Spicy Easy Run (August 23, 2025)

Build Phase 3 | Week 1 | Run 4 Today’s session was a short, fasted Easy Run with a spicy edge – part of Build Phase 3 | Week 1. I wanted to keep things light but honest, pushing at the top of Zone 2 and brushing Tempo, while testing hydration strategy in warm conditions.

Build Phase 3 | Week 1 | Run 2 Today’s Easy Run was part of Build Phase 3 | Week 1. With cooler conditions (a gift this late in August), I went in expecting smooth miles. The goal: keep it relaxed in Zone 2, practice fluid form, and shake out the legs after yesterday’s progression
