Recap, Recover, Relax & Ready – Week 9 (March 10-16, 2025)

Embrace the Moments: Finding Balance in the In-Between

What a powerful week. I hit all my targets—volume, HR, paces. But the biggest win? Realizing that the magic isn’t just in the highs or the lows—it’s in the moments between.

This week wasn’t just about nailing workouts (which, let’s be honest, I did 💪). It was about learning to treat each session with equanimity—because for every workout that leaves me over the moon, there will be another that leaves me in a gasping pile. The key? Embrace them all.

The Workouts

Tuesday – Interval Session: Faster than prescribed! A reminder that my current 10K pace may be underestimated.
Wednesday – Cross-Training (Bike): Fueling & hydration dialed in = no dizziness. 🚴‍♂️
Thursday – Tempo Tango: Making the miles count.
Saturday – Easy Run + Endurance Yoga: Moving the long run to avoid the expected downpour on Sunday—A relaxed session to keep things moving, followed by 30 minutes of yoga to unwind.
Sunday – The Conveyor Belt Test Drive: Introduced my new Altra Experience Flows to the treadmill, HR stayed in Zone 2.
Bonus Strength Work: Lower body (Friday) + Glutes & Legs post-treadmill (Sunday).

Key Takeaways

  • 🎵 The Rhythm Experiment: My drumbeat playlist progression kept me locked into effort & pace—this might be a game-changer.
  • ⚖️ Training with Balance: Every workout doesn’t need to be an “epic”—the steady rhythm of consistency is where real progress happens.
  • 🚀 Pacing Recalibration: This week’s workouts suggest I’m faster than my prescribed 10K pace—adjustments incoming.

Final Thoughts

I summed it up on Instagram today:

“Week 09! Embrace the moments. What a great week of hitting all my training targets. It’s so easy to bask in the glow of the highs and burn with the lows, but I’m finding balance in embracing the moments in between.”

Spring is just around the corner, and I feel ready for what’s ahead. Week 10? Let’s do this.
