Another week of training is in the books! This week had a bit of everything—highs, lows, adjustments, and learning moments. Here’s how it all shook out:
Training Summary:
- Tuesday: Interval Run (Treadmill) – 5-6 x1 Mile repeats hard efforts with recovery jogs. It was a mental battle. I only completed 4 rather strong repeats.
- Friday: Tempo Run (Treadmill) – Originally scheduled on the previous day. I struggled to hit target paces. Fought through some mental and physical barriers.
- Saturday: Easy Run (Outdoors) – 1 hour of pure joy under the open sky. A much-needed reminder of why I love running.
- Sunday: Long Run – 1 hour 30 minutes in Zone 2. Pushed through, but maxed heart rate at 149 bpm.
Key Takeaways:
- Progress: Interval and easy runs were solid.
- Challenges: Friday’s tempo run was humbling. Not every run will be a win, but every run is a step forward.
- Learning: Listen to your body. Adjust when needed. Keep moving forward.
Looking Ahead:
Next week, I’ll focus on building consistency and refining my pacing, with particular attention to staying in my target heart rate zones.
