The Plan:
Easy Run. 50-60 Minutes:
- Easy running in Zone 2 (under 137 bpm)
Pre-Workout Fueling:
- Small flavored yogurt mixed with 2 tablespoons of Bulletproof Brain Octane MCT Oil (~35 minutes before run)
- Pre & post-hydrated with Nuun, nothing during the run
The Execution:
I disabled the HR alerts on my Garmin F235 again today, continuing my experiment with running by feel. However, starting out with a group made sticking to Zone 2 a challenge—group dynamics tend to push the pace! Once I broke off and ran solo, it was easier to settle in, but I still found myself frequently drifting into Zone 3.
Pacing by feel is a skill I’m determined to master, and this run reinforced that I have more work to do. The goal remains the same: build endurance while keeping my effort in check. A nut I plan to crack, for sure!
Final Thoughts:
Beautiful day, good energy, and another step toward becoming a ‘pacing master.’ Progress, not perfection!
