3/08/2025 Training Log – Easy Peasy, Fueling Sleazy?

The Plan:
Easy Run. 30-40 Minutes:

  • Stay in Zone 2 heart rate (under 137 bpm)

Pre-Workout Fueling:

  • Low-carb meal before the workout (not fasted)
  • Chose 2 tbsp Bulletproof Brain Octane MCT oil mixed with 1/4 cup flavored yogurt (~40-45 min pre-run)
  • Pre & post-hydrated with Nuun—nothing during the run

The Execution:
I had a good low-carb breakfast before I locked in my run time, so I didn’t necessarily plan my pre-run meal with the usual precision. Once I set my run time, I opted for a quick dose of MCT oil and yogurt, then hit the road.

With clear blue skies overhead and my body feeling fully fueled, I cruised through this one with ease. Bonus: I disabled my HR Zone alerts on my Garmin and ran purely by feel. While I drifted into Zone 3 at times, my average HR stayed solidly in Zone 2. Mission accomplished. Easy Peasy!
